Oxonians building what's next, in San Francisco.

What we do

Evenings that move ideas to action

Most months, a member firm hosts us after work. The format is simple and has worked for a long time.

Flagship

Pitch nights

One or two Oxford founders pitch first. Every pitch gets candid feedback, and most come with an ask: funding, a key hire or an introduction. Then one speaker. Each gets plenty of time for questions, from people who have built and backed companies before.

  • 6:00 PMArrive, food and drinks from the host
  • 6:45 PMFounder pitches, about 30 minutes each with Q&A
  • 7:45 PMSpeaker, about 30 minutes with Q&A

Same people, same evenings, a new name

The people behind ONE-SF have brought Oxonian founders together in the Bay Area since 2014, first as Oxford Entrepreneurs of the Bay and later as OEN Bay Area. In 2026 we relaunched as ONE-SF, the Oxonian Network of Entrepreneurs: the same people, the same format and renewed energy.

Why now? The AI wave has brought a new generation of Oxford founders to San Francisco, and the Bay Area is once again where they start, raise and hire. ONE-SF brings them together, in person.

Our story

A decade of evenings

  1. Late 2014

A group of Oxford alumni in the Bay Area decide to start a group where founders can exchange ideas, practice pitches, give and receive feedback, share networks and encourage each other.

  2. 2015 to 2018

The group organized dozens of meetings, at locations in San Francisco, Silicon Valley and the East Bay, with an average turnout of 30 to 40 people at each event. The group operated under the name Oxford Entrepreneurs of the Bay, and was fully independent from Oxford University.

Alumni in other cities and countries began expressing interest in founding similar organizations in their locations, and the group freely shared its insights.

  3. 2019

The University Alumni Office recognized the Oxford Entrepreneurs Network (OEN) as an official alumni organization, with chapters across the US, the UK, Germany and more.

  4. 2020 to 2021

During COVID, virtual evenings and online masterclasses were introduced as a way to keep people connected and to facilitate networking across geographies.

  5. 2022 to 2025

In-person networking events began to restart. Some events were held as OEN events, and others, involving many of the same people, were non-OEN events. Guests have joined from the Rhodes Incubator and the UK government's Global Entrepreneur Programme.

  6. 2026

A fresh start as ONE-SF, an independent organization, open to Oxford entrepreneurs everywhere, with evenings in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.

Visit our friends at Oxonian Ventures

A fund that started in the room

Early on, members who met at Oxford Entrepreneurs of the Bay evenings expressed the view that it would be great if Oxonians could support Oxonians by having a way to invest in startups presenting at the meetings. This led to the creation of what became Oxonian Ventures. Today Oxonian Ventures has 3 funds and 30+ portfolio companies, and it stays close to this community.

Visit Oxonian Ventures

Bringing founders and investors together in one room.

ONE-SF is a community run by volunteers. It doesn't invest or raise money itself. Anything it may eventually charge for events or other programming is solely to offset operating costs.

Oxonian Ventures partners have long been part of our evenings, and founders who pitch can meet them alongside every other investor in the room.
